Thanks to Bill, who was our April Triple Play Winner!

to a massage today! Well, summer has arrived at the Jersey Shore. Just look
around and take in the blooming flowers, flags flapping in the breeze, lush
green lawns and the sounds of the ice cream man. The lazy,crazy days of summer!
I love them! Hope you get a chance to take in some of the Local Happenings
so you to can enjoy the lazy,crazy days of summer! Speaking of summer events,
I will be representing Bradley Beach on July 11th at the Mrs.New Jersey

LOCAL HAPPENINGS AND EVENTS

June 9 - Looking for direction in your career? Need a change? Be sure to attend this lecture Identifying Your Career Direction given by Rita Freeborough, Career Counselor. The discussion will be from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Eastern Branch Library, Shrewsbury

June 10 - Join in the discussion of Adventure on the High Seas: Horatio Hornblower Series. The discussion will be led by Joe Lyons, director, Bradley Beach Public Library. The discussion will begin at 7:00 pm at Oceanport Library Branch

June 11 to 13 - The SayWhatClub, a non-profit organization for persons with hearing loss, (and people interested in folks with hearing loss) is having a convention in Cape May. A wine & cheese party kicks off the event on Friday night. There are workshops on Saturday, and a *town hall* type meeting on Sunday. Interested in more details? Contact MaryJersey@aol.com. June 12/13 - The 13th Annual Belmar Seafood Festival will be held today. Head to Ocean Ave. from 10 am to 7 pm for your fill of seafood galore!!

June 12 - Join Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth County for the 11th Annual Bike-A-Thon at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft. Bring the family, bring some friends and enjoy rides from 10 to 100 miles and know that while you have a great day you are making a difference in the life of a child. Enjoy fun-filled activities, demonstrations by police bike patrols, great rest stops, super food, sports massage, live music and much more.

June 12 - Bay Head is having its annual "Art in the Park, Bay Head" (raindate June 13th) from 10am to 4pm in Centennial Park, off of Bridge Avenue in Bay Head. There will be about 30 professional artists primarily from Ocean and Monmouth Counties selling their paintings and prints. The Pt.Pleasant Beach High School jazz band performs in the morning. June 12 - The Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury on Sycamore Ave will hold an Old Fashioned Strawberry Festival from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Items for sale will include home baked goods, boxed berries as well as jewelry, books, plants, handcrafts, Trash and Treasure, SERVV Crafts, lunch, delicious desserts and much more! There will be activities for the children. For more information on the festivities call 747-4848.

June 13 - Pine Creek Railroad of Allaire State Park will host their annual Antique Truck, Tractor and Machinery Day at Allaire State Park. The trucks, tractors and machines will be on display from 12 noon to 4:30 pm. There is a $3 parking fee and a $2.50 fee if you wish to ride the Pine Creek Railroad. The show is FREE! Call 938-5524 for details

June 15 - Have back or neck pain? Learn more about it at Headache, Neck & Back Pain Seminar given by Connect Chiropractic. The seminar will begin at 7:00 pm at the Eastern Branch Library in Shrewsbury

June 17 - Join the Monmouth County Audubon Society for an evening Bird Walk to look for nesters and shorebirds on Sandy Hook. The event is scheduled to start at 6:00 pm. The trip will be led by members of the Monmouth County Audubon Society who are familiar with Sandy Hook and its birds. Anyone interested in participating in the event can meet at 6:00 pm in the parking lot of the Spermaceti Cove Visitor’s Center. The trip is open to both members and non-members of the Monmouth County Audubon Society, and admission is free. Participants should dress appropriately for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and bring binoculars and field guides. Insect repellent is highly recommended, as mosquitoes and gnats are active in the early evening.

June 21 - Professional Firefighters Association of Asbury Park Local 384 will hold a First Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Cruz Farm Golf Club in Farmingdale. Shotgun start is at 8 am. The cost is $80 per player and includes Breakfast,gift bag, cart, green fees, beer cart, lunch,buffet dinner, open bar and prizes. For more details call, (732) 922-4166 or (732) 775-8883. All proceeds go to the ASBURY PARK FIREFIGHTERS LOCAL 384 CHARITABLE TRUST FUND

The Wall Lions Club is seeking new members. Members should be from Wall, Belmar, Spring Lake,

The Heart of New Jersey Chorus is a women's chorus and chapter of
sweet adelines international. There are 60 singers presently and they
are looking to grow to 70 this year.They manage to have fun while
working hard every Wednesday evening.They meet during the school year
on Rt. 79 in Marlboro and at Monmouth Reform Temple during the summer.
