Thanks again to Allaire Awards for sponsoring our issue. I hope everyone
had a lovely Valentine's Day. I realized today that there are only 33 days
to the official beginning of Spring! Yahoo! I happen to enjoy Spring so
I am excited! The birds return, the weather gets nice and it stays light a
bit longer. Perfect time to be outside and enjoy life... Hope you will get
a chance to enjoy some of the Local Happenings I've found below. Remember
if you know of any upcoming events, please email me so I can includ them
for FREE. We publish the 1st & 3rd Monday of each month.

LOCAL HAPPENINGS AND EVENTS

February 16 - The Southern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce will have its monthly
membership meeting at the Chamber office at 8 am. The topic for this month is How to Get a
Response from Your Advertising. A continental breakfast will be served for a cost of $5.

February 16 - ITEX of Belmar will hold a Networking session from 5 to 8 pm. There will be refreshments and the chance to learn more about bartering in today's business world. For details call Philis at 280-0565 or join them at 114 State Hwy. 71 Belmar
February 18 - Lone Keep Internet will hold its monthly FREE Internet Training session. The session is held at the Southern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce office on Hwy. 35 in Wall. The session begins at 7:30 pm. Call 988-4044 for details
February 18-21 - The Deep Cut Orchid Society will host its third annual show. It will take place at the Monmouth Mall. Call 222-1436 for details.
February 19/20 - The Pine Tree Players will present Private Lives at Wesley Hall on 4th & Mercer Aves. in Spring Lake. Showtime is 8 pm and doors open at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $14 a person. Call 774-8833 for tickets
February 20 - The Eastern Branch Library on Rt. 35 in Shrewsbury will be holding a program, Poets at Large. The program will begin at 2:00 pm
February 20 - Michael Taubenslag Productions present Cindrella, A live musical comedy for kids. The show is being presented at the Algonquin Arts Theater in Manasquan. Show time is 1 pm and 3 pm. Tickets are $6 for all seats. Call 777-1460 to reserve tickets.
February 21 - The Bradley Beach Library will be hosting Folk Singers today. The program begins at 3 pm
February 22 - The Ocean Twp. High School PTSA will be holding its monthly meeting at 7:30 pm. The topic will be Conflict Resolution & Peer Mediation. It will be held in the high school cafeteria.
February 23 - Barnes & Noble on Route 9 in Freehold will be welcoming Joseph Bilby discussing Forgotten Warriors, which tells of the tragedies and triumphs of African American soldiers in the Civil War. Join the discussion group at 7:30 pm
February 25 - Michael Bonadies will be at Barnes & Noble in Freehold to discuss how to's in choosing and serving wine. The discussion begins at 7:30 pm
February 25 - The Wall Library on Allaire Road will be hosting A Musical Journey
Festive Flutes, A group of Monmouth County musicians. The program begins at 7:00 pm.

The Heart of New Jersey Chorus is a women's chorus and chapter of
sweet adelines international. There are 60 singers presently and they
are looking to grow to 70 this year.They manage to have fun while
working hard every Wednesday evening.They meet during the school year
on Rt. 79 in Marlboro and at Monmouth Reform Temple during the summer.
