Quote of the Issue:

Nature does nothing uselessly.
                                    Aristotle

---------------------------------------------------------------------
A WORD OR TWO FROM ME
by Karen E. Jarosz
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Awesome. Beautiful. Powerful. All these words can be used to describe nature. Think about what Mother Nature has dealt us in the past 6 weeks. We have had two major snowstorms dumping record breaking snow, and powerful nor'easter winds causing blizzard like conditions. This had led to beach erosion, downed trees and a host of other problems including flooding with the melting snow. Then this weekend we got slammed with a major rainstorm the likes of which we haven't seen in a long time. Winds gusted to up to 67 mph in some spots, 2 to 3 inches of rain fell in places and I can't believe the amount of trees and poles that are down! Not to mention the devastating fire that destroyed the Manchester Inn and some 6 homes in Ocean Grove due the the gale forces winds! My point? The force of nature is a powerful thing that even mighty man with all his modern technology cannot control and respect is another word that comes to mind. We should respect the power of nature and accept that we will never tame, control or understand it. Yet as the Quote of the Issue states Nature does nothing uselessly. With all this destruction I delight in the fact that Spring begins on Saturday and my proof is the the budding tulips and daffodils in my front yard. This remind me of another quote that states: Hope springs eternal. Let's all hope that with spring comes gentle breezes, soft rains, and colorful blossoms on sun-filled days meant to be enjoyed outdoors! Woo Hoo Spring!
Until April 5th, keep your eyes open for signs of spring,
Karen

PS - Please keep in your prayers and thoughts those folks who were affected by the devastating fire this weekend in Ocean Grove. Clark at The Manchester Inn is a longtime client and friend of ours. I know how shocked I was upon seeing what happened and I can't imagine what he and his family must be feeling as well as the other families that were affected.

Unless you've suffered the heartache personally, it's hard to imagine the array of emotions you experience as you hold a sick puppy in your arms at 3:00 am. There are many sick puppies being sold in Monmouth and Ocean counties from both breeders and puppy stores. Should you or someone you know purchase one of these bundles of love and it turns out to be sick, you need to go to a new website dedicated solely to the reporting of sick puppies in Monmouth and Ocean counties. The website is www.ReportSickPuppies.com

Potter Pest Control

More than just eating up all your food and being a general nuisance, carpenter ants can cause extensive damage to your home's infrastructure, and for every one you do see, there could be hundreds more hiding in the walls.

Carpenter ants damage wood and insulation by excavating tunnels, and they are capable of causing more harm to your home than even termites. Fortunately, a carpenter ant problem is entirely controllable under professional care.
