Quote of the Issue:

Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each.

A WORD OR TWO FROM ME
by Karen E. Jarosz
---------------------------------------------------------------------
So we are now in the thick of winter! We have had two major snow storms in less than a week and there is still a month to go before spring arrives. I am not a fan of winter but I am trying to take the Quote of the Issue to heart. There certainly is a different smell to the air in each season. Spring air is sweet and refreshing while summer air here at the beach can be salty. Winter air has that heavy fireplace burning smell to it while autumn air is crisp. Right now the drink of this season is of course hot cocoa with mint in it for a treat! As for the influence of this season I am learning to play Uno again, doing sudoku, reading my books that are piled up and enjoying some classic movies. While I try to keep busy in this bleakest of seasons my heart and mind are filled with thoughts of tulips and daffodils, walks on the boardwalk and bicycle rides. Hang in there and to drive away the winter blahs check out a Local Happening or better yet do as I have done head over to The Barbaric Bean on Main Street in Ocean Grove. Saturday nights they offer some of the best live music around and you can enjoy amazing desserts with a cup of joe or a delicious hot drink to keep you warm as well as warm your heart! Take along someone special to make it extra fun!
Karen

Unless you've suffered the heartache personally, it's hard to imagine the array of emotions you experience as you hold a sick puppy in your arms at 3:00 am. There are many sick puppies being sold in Monmouth and Ocean counties from both breeders and puppy stores. Should you or someone you know purchase one of these bundles of love and it turns out to be sick, you need to go to a new website dedicated solely to the reporting of sick puppies in Monmouth and Ocean counties. The website is www.ReportSickPuppies.com
