Quote of the Issue:
And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for
you - ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what
America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.
John F. Kennedy (1917 - 1963)

A WORD OR TWO FROM ME
by Karen E. Jarosz
---------------------------------------------------------------------
So what have you done lately to help your country, community or neighbor? There are many
opportunities this month that you take to do just that! Start with tomorrow. It is
Election Day. Sadly, many in our great nation do not exercise this right or take this
responsibility to heart. However, it is extremely important for all of us to get out and
vote. This helps our country and community. Next week is Veteran's Day. This is the day we
honor all those servicemen and women who proudly serve our great nation. They protect all
that is near and dear to us. What can you do to show your appreciation? Attend a ceremony
or if you know a veteran be sure to say thanks and acknowledge their selfless service!
Without these heroes where would we be as a nation? Lastly, this month is my favorite
holiday, Thanksgiving! It is not just my favorite because of the delicious food but
because it is a time to reflect and take stock of all our blessings. Why not take some
time then to say a prayer of thanks for those who are so important to us?
Until November 16th, take a moment to think about all that this great nation means to
you and what you can do to keep it going strong,
Karen

Unless you've suffered the heartache personally, it's hard to imagine the array of
emotions you experience as you hold a sick puppy in your arms at 3:00 am. There are many
sick puppies being sold in Monmouth and Ocean counties from both breeders and puppy
stores. Should you or someone you know purchase one of these bundles of love and it turns
out to be sick, you need to go to a new website dedicated solely to the reporting of sick
puppies in Monmouth and Ocean counties. The website is www.ReportSickPuppies.com

Extant Small Business, a technology consulting firm, has donated 10 refurbished personal
computers to the Association of Retarded Citizens of Monmouth County for use by their
clients. Originally slated for disposal because they were deemed obsolete, these PCs were
rescued by Extant for use in a non-business environment. Some of the businesses that
donated to this project were The Senior Citizens Activities Network of Monmouth County,
Joan of Arc Electrical Contractors of Lincroft , Lone Keep Internet, Inc. of Bradley Beach
and Johnny's Garage of Long Branch.
