A WORD OR TWO FROM ME
by Karen E. Jarosz
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Happy Autumn! Time for sweaters, pumpkins, cider, mums, warm soup, apple picking and crisp
air. It is time for nature to put on a display of beautiful, fiery colors and a time to
enjoy the harvest. Now many of us are not farmers who will reap actual crops but we can
use autumn as a time to reflect on the harvest of gifts we have in our lives. We may reap
the rewards of hard work at a job or maybe enjoy the harvest of good friends who we will
make time to spend with. Perhaps we will reap the harvest of good health and spend those
cool autumn days outside raking leaves, picking apples or pumpkins or just stroll the
boardwalk enjoying the warm rays of the autumn sun. Whatever you choose to harvest make
sure it brings a smile to your heart and warms your soul.
Until October 4th, look for those fiery colors that Mother Nature shares with us at this
lovely time of year,
Karen
PS - Remember starting with our September 7th issue we went
back to our regular publishing schedule of the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month.

MIKE'S PET CENTER in Neptune has a new pet!
Mike has adopted a 6 year old female Kinkajou named Kaytie.
What is a Kinkajou? It is a mammal that is native to South Americas tropical forest
and is in the same family as the raccoon, but Kaytie originally came from a private
breeder in Kansas. Some interesting facts are they have a prehensile tail and they can
turn their feet backwards to run either way. She likes a lot of tropical fruits and they
also like honey and that is how they got a nickname "Honey Bear" but one of her
favorite treats is marshmallows. Kinkajous are nocturnal and are very sweat but shy
animals. They live to be about 25years old.
