A WORD OR TWO FROM ME
by Karen E. Jarosz
---------------------------------------------------------------------
So it is June. It it the month of June brides, graduations, schools close and the official
start of summer. The weather starts to warm up, folks spend time outside and life starts
to take an easy pace. However, 65 years ago it was the month when life would change for
millions worldwide. June 6th, 1944 - D-Day. It is difficult to imagine what it must have
been like to live in war torn Europe. It is harder still to imagine what it must have been
like to land in Normandy on that day and wonder what was in store for you. Yet thousands
of Americans did just that in the name of freedom. They knew what they had to do and
were most likely scared young men doing a job. Yet they completed the mission at great
cost to many and that is what I would call courage! So on Saturday June 6th take a moment
to remember those who had the courage to do what had to be done so we could enjoy what we
have today...
Until June 8th, enjoy all that you have each and every day...
Karen
PS - Starting June 1st we will be resuming our summer publishing schedule. That means

The Barbaric Bean Celebrates 1-Year Anniversary!
An historic event recently occurred in Ocean Grove, NJ: Barbaric Bean
Coffee Roasters celebrated its one-year anniversary. We stormed the gates of this boomin'
beach town on February 23, 2008. Since that time we have met thousands of wonderful
customers, trained over 25 staff members, weathered the summer wave of tourists and guests
to Ocean Grove.
From: mikespet@comcast.net
MIKE'S PET CENTER in Neptune has a new pet!
Mike has adopted a 6 year old female Kinkajou named Kaytie.
What is a Kinkajou? It is a mammal that is native to South Americas tropical forest
and is in the same family as the raccoon, but Kaytie originally came from a private
breeder in Kansas. Some interesting facts are they have a prehensile tail and they can
turn their feet backwards to run either way. She likes a lot of tropical fruits and they
also like honey and that is how they got a nickname "Honey Bear" but one of her
favorite treats is marshmallows. Kinkajous are nocturnal and are very sweat but shy
animals. They live to be about 25years old.
