Quote of the Issue:

When I was young, my ambition was to be one of the people who made a difference in this world. My hope still is to leave the world a little bit better for my having been here. It's a wonderful life and I love it.

A WORD OR TWO FROM ME
by Karen E. Jarosz
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Congratulations to all those who have recently graduated! I love the Quote of the Issue (not just because I love the Muppets) because it is exactly how I feel about life and my teaching. I just finished my 21st year and I am looking forward to September already because I have been given the opportunity to move to 5th grade. The joke is that after 14 years in 3rd grade I finally graduated to 5th grade! It looks to be a new, exciting and challenging year but one that gives me a chance to learn, grow and perhaps leave a positive difference in my older students lives! It is truly a wonderful life and I feel so lucky to be a part of it!
Until June 30th, savor everyday and look to make a difference
Karen
PS - Remember we are now publishing every Monday in June, July and August! So if you have an event to include we need it by Friday at 12 noon to be included in the following Monday's issue. Thanks!

From:  THE MAN ABOUT TOWN (DAVID ZIMEL)
Ahh, your morning coffee. Something to look forward to, the start of a new day. While it's important that the coffee be good, where you're having it is also important. On Saturday April 12th, it was my pleasure to have my morning cup at the grand opening of the Barbaric Bean on Main St. in Ocean Grove. The coffee was great, as was the food. But what I truly liked was the atmosphere. An excellent place to linger with friends and family or just read your favorite book. So make your way over to the Barbaric Bean. Even if the rest of your day isn't splendid, you'll know it started off just fine.
