We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.

A WORD OR TWO FROM ME
by Karen E. Jarosz
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Well the holiday season is upon us! What I would like to propose this season is to not
give! Yes, you read that right! Not to give! What I mean is to not give material
extravagant items that with time become faded, useless or broken but rather give in
another way. Give of your time by volunteering such as gift wrapping at Barnes and Noble
with donations going to a charity, giving time to help out at the Foodbank, or giving time
by visiting a nursing home. Give of yourself by donating to a charity, donate blood at the
bloodbank, take part in a giving tree to help out a less fortunate person, or purchasing a
toy to give for Toys for Tots. You can also give by writing a heartfelt letter to a loved
one letting them know what they truly mean to you. There are so many ways to give that it
can be hard to choose. Yet the most important thing to remember is to give in spirit and
that is what makes the season warm and bright.
Until December 17th, give a little each day from the heart!
Karen
