Quote of the Issue:

When I was young, my ambition was to be one of the people who made a difference in this world. My hope still is to leave the world a little bit better for my having been here. It's a wonderful life and I love it.
Jim Henson, It's Not Easy Being Green And Other Things to Consider

---------------------------------------------------------------------
A WORD OR TWO FROM ME
by Karen E. Jarosz
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Ah to be young and full of ambition and dreams!! Well I am a firm believer that you are never to young to be ambitious and to reach a dream! I feel that as I grow older (and wiser) I can better plan in baby steps my dreams (goals) and reach them. I can honestly say that some of the most exciting and rewarding dreams/goals I have realized have occurred in the past 5 years or so. They have all been very positive and have helped me to be a better person but have also helped me to reach out to others and have a positive impact. For me life is not about how much money I will make, the car I drive or the fancy house I might live in. It is about the satisfaction in knowing that I have helped another and left a positive mark. Think about this and ask yourself if you are leaving your mark and in what way?

Until the August 20th, imagine...
Karen

Note from the Editor: I met John from the Bradley Beach Fire Department this week who sponsors an ad here in our newsletter. It was a pleasure to meet such a gentleman but it was great to hear that their beautiful rental hall (I have been there for the breakfasts they host) is booking events from the ad here in the Bulletin!!

Thank you John for the wonderful feedback and folks if you are looking to have a reception, shower or party of any kind be sure to check out this local, beautiful (not to mention spacious!) hall in Bradley Beach!!! You won't be disappointed. See the ad below for a phone number

SUMMER BOOK PICKS
compiled by Karen E. Jarosz
------------------------------------------------------------------------

So this is our first try at a summer reading list for adults if you will. I am excited because I love to read good books that stimulate my brain and to hear about books that I really shouldn't miss! I hope you, the readers, will enjoy this addition to the Bulletin and will feel free to participate and share!! I will start us off with a book I read this time last year that I can not forget.

Steven Sears picks (SGS@SGSWrite.com):
Perhaps I'm in the minority, but if I'm down the (Jersey) shore, I want to read a book about New Jersey. Two of my favorites are Mark DiIonno's Coastal Heritage Trail and Robert Santelli's Guide to the Jersey Shore. These books are about NJ, and especially the shore area, may be no better than these two.

(Publisher's Note: Hope you readers submit your favorite books!)

The Penn-Jersey Region uses a real-time, five-day inventory, meaning that blood is collected and distributed continuously. However, their inventory often fails to maintain less than one day's worth of Type-O blood, which is crucial in emergency room treatment. While continuing to supply blood and blood products to the five Philadelphia counties and all of New Jersey, the Penn-Jersey Region is the main supplier to 86 hospitals and 40 additional hospitals on an as-needed basis. Blood drives are held every Wednesday at the Tinton Falls Donor Facility, 1540 West Park Avenue. I am proud to let you know that I will once again be walking in the America's Walk for Diabetes fund-raising event to benefit the American Diabetes Association.

As always, I am taking part in this event because I believe in and support the Association's mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. I am truly hopeful that, with your continued generous support, future generations will not have to suffer the same fate as my father or the millions of others affected. Please consider helping me in this mission!

You can help in 1 of either 2 ways: 1) By supporting my fund-raising efforts with a generous contribution or 2) Join me for the Walk! (Sat, Oct 13th @ Soldier Field)
