A WORD OR TWO FROM ME
by Karen E. Jarosz
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cead Mile Failte!! In the Irish that means one hundred thousand welcomes...This week is one that is a favorite of mine! I celebrate St. Patrick's Day being Irish and all (Yes, I have been told I have the face of Ireland and look like the poster child of Ireland with the red hair, fair skin, freckles and fierce temper when pushed to the brink...) and I also am happy to welcome Spring on the 20th! My crocus are pushing up and beginning to bloom. The sun is beckoning me awake each morning and the weather is beginning to improve. It is a lovely time of year at least I think so. It is also a great time to pick an event or two to attend and get and enjoy the Shore area and the coming of Spring. Take along some family or friends and enjoy it even more!
Please feel free to email me and let me know if you particularly enjoyed something or know of an upcoming event to be included.
Until April 5th, breath in the fresh spring air!
Karen

Jersey Shore Relay that will be held on April 17, 2004. Last year we raised $38,000 for the Monmouth and Ocean Special Olympics and we would love to break that record this year. I am a Scoutmaster from Boy Scout Troop 71 in Oakhurst, NJ and plan to have my boy scouts and local girl scouts volunteer their time at water stops and giving directions to runners on this 25 mile relay race, which starts on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights and ends at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park. Please support our efforts to make this event a success. Any questions please contact me at this e-mail address and at home 732/493-4275 or work 732/417-3235.

I volunteer for the Monmouth County SPCA. A group of us volunteers have created a new 2004 "New Beginnings" calendar, featuring some of our happiest adoptions. I was wondering if you would include the following blurb advertising this fundraiser. We were able to get local businesses to sponsor the production of the calendar, so every penny made goes directly to the animals. We are very excited! If you want, you can read more at www.monmouthcountyspca.org/calendar.htm
