A WORD OR TWO FROM ME
by Karen E. Jarosz
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello and hope all is well. I also hope for those of you returning to school the year
started off in a happy way. Seems like once school starts life changes and yet once you're
back in the swing of it, it feels like the summer never happened. I hope that even with
the hectic school and fall sports schedules you will find time to do something fun like go
to a Fall Festival, check out a concert or show or go to the Chess Festival in Asbury
Park! Make sure to take along someone you enjoy being with to make it twice as fun. Please
feel free to email me and let me know if you particularly enjoyed something and do not
forget to check out our sponsors.
Until October 6th, remember to breathe and take it easy...

From: Mike.Washakowski@wakefern.com
My 17 year old son is working hard on his Boy Scout Eagle Leadership Service Project to
benefit a summer Camp for handicapped children called Elks Camp Moore. His project is to
plan and coordinate a running race sponsored by the Southeast Elks Club and the Jersey
Shore Running Club. Since he is also a runner and a member of his high school cross
country and track teams, he is looking forward to planning this event. In fact, his
scoutmaster has a handicapped child that has attended Camp Moore for the past few years
and loves it. The race is called Relay by the Sea and will be held on Sunday morning, Sept
28th at the Army National Guard Training Center in Sea Girt, NJ. He would love to get this
article published in the paper to have readers recognize how important it is to support
these projects that benefit special needs children. The publicity would be greatly
appreciated and may set an example for other youth groups to sponsor or do similar
projects to benefit the less fortunate. He would appreciate if you can support his efforts
to make this event a success and highlight Camp Moore. Any questions please contact me at
732/417-3235 (W) or 732/493-4275 (H). Thanks for supporting our youth!!!
