July 23 to 27 - Join the fun of the Monmouth County Fair to be held at East Freehold Park Showgrounds located on Kozlowski Road in Freehold. July 25 to 27 - Be a part of the best action on the beach as AVP Volleyball returns to Belmar. Come watch Mike Whitmarsh & Canyon Ceman defend their title. The Open begins on Saturday. General admission tickets will be sold at the event, with bleacher seating available. Also planned are "meet the pros" nights when visitors will be able to meet the world's best beach volleyball players at some of Belmar's liveliest hot spots. July 27 - Ryka Take Fitness to Heart 5k and 10k Race to raise awareness and funds for Women’s Heart Disease will include a 5K (3.1 miles) Women’s Walk/Run and a 10K (6.2 miles) Women’s Run/Race. Start time is 9 am and it will be held at Monmouth Battlefield State Park on Rt. 33 in Manalapan. Registration is as follows: by mail - $22 after July 20. July 31 - USA Lifesaving Sprint Championships featuring Surfboats, Paddle Boards, Surfskis and Ocean Kayaks. Monies will go to Ocean County College Sailing. This is open to all Lifeguards and athletes. Start time is 9 am with registration running from 7:30 am to 8:45 am. Preregistration is $25 and that day it is $35. The fee includes a t-shirt, food, refreshments and awards. The finish location is Pedals N Paddles in Seaside Heights.
