LOCAL HAPPENINGS AND EVENTS

October 8 - Barnes & Noble of Freehold on Hwy. 9 will hold an Educators Night. There
will be a speaker,
door prizes, resource information, a chance to receive a discount card and a drawing for
Gary Paulsen, the
children's author, to come to one lucky winner's class! Join the fun from 7 to 8:30 pm.

October 8 - Coretta Scott King will speak at the 4th annual Wellness Conference
sponsored in part by
Meridian Health Services. The Conference is being held at the Ocean Place Hilton in Long
Branch from 9

October 10 - There will be a Fall Harvest Festival in Ocean Grove. Included will be
sidewalk sales, crafters,

October 10 - First United Methodist Church in Oakhurst will hold a Flea Market from 8

October 11 - The Sixth Annual Belmar Fall Harvest Festival will be held on Main Street

pm. There will be art,crafts,antiques,entertainment,magician and petting zoo. The contests

October 13 - The 1st Annual Golf Outing to benefit Historic Allaire Village will be
held at Spring Meadow

October 15 - Free Internet Training session held by Lone Keep Internet at Southern
Monmouth Area

The Heart of New Jersey Chorus is a women's chorus and chapter of
sweet adelines international. There are 60 singers presently and they
are looking to grow to 70 this year.They manage to have fun while
working hard every Wednesday evening.They meet during the school year
on Rt. 79 in Marlboro and at Monmouth Reform Temple during the summer.
