Policies and User Responsibilities

Obey the Law

This should go without saying, but we need to be explicit. We in this day and age can not monitor a user's activity on the Internet. However, if we discover that you are using your Lone Keep Internet account to deal in illegal pornography, to distribute pirated software, or do anything else with your account which violates the law, your account privileges will be terminated immediately, and the appropriate law enforcement authorities will be notified.

No Sharing of Accounts

User accounts are not shared accounts. Your password is your personal responsibility and you are responsible for all activity undertaken on your account.

About "Unlimited" Accounts

You will notice that we don't have user time limits and we don't charge by the hour. Unlike most services, we have no restrictions on the amount of time you use your account each month. However, you should not interpret this to mean that we will keep your connection up during long periods of inactivity on your part. Lone Keep Internet allows for a 15 minute period of inactivity before the system logs your account off. Our user-to-modem ratio is very low and we are sure you will be satisfied with our modem availability. Of course, no service can practically provide a one-to-one modem ratio. We believe that you would rather re-dial after a period of long inactivity rather than get a busy signal because fellow users have left modems connected for long periods without any activity.

Netiquette

The Internet has grown at a very fast pace to become a wonderful place to expand your knowledge and conduct business. It has been kept that way because most users have learned to be considerate of other users who make up the Internet community. This means that sending out junk email, harassing fellow users, posting to a news group without first reading the FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions), and generally making a nuisance of yourself won't endear you to anyone. Follow the golden rule and treat others as you would have them treat you on the Internet.
